Happy New Year, Aviators!!
As we begin this new year, and round up the first half of the school year, it is a perfect time to reflect on the Mission of Alliance City Schools.
It is our mission "for all students to reach their fullest potential and become productive citizens through staff who establish high expectations; a safe, positive and engaging environment; and content that supports critical thinking, collaboration, communication and creativity".
As Principal of Parkway, I see teachers, support staff, volunteers, students, and parents striving every day to make this mission a reality. I can confidently say that despite all of the change that has occurred recently in our district and state, amazing things have emerged.
FIrst, we have more technology! A storage area was recently turned into a beautiful computer lab space for our students. Right before break, we received 100 ChromeBooks to use with our iReady instruction and we still have our three carts of iPads. Technology is being used strategically to boost reading and math achievement every single day.
Next, we have strong teaching teams committed to all students. They are working collaboratively to plan engaging lessons and memorable learning experiences. Intervention Specialists and Literacy Numeracy Teachers support each grade level by reducing class sizes and providing a variety of interventions.
Last and certainly not least, we have an incredible PTO that has committed itself to working together to provide family-friendly activities and monthly meetings that celebrate students, staff, and school.
I would say we are Mission-focused and heading in the right direction.
Thank you to all of the Parkway students, parents, teachers, support staff, and volunteers for all you do. I wish each and every one of you a safe and happy January!
